Patron of the School for the Art & Science of Event Management, Dr Claudelle Von Eck, Founder of Brave Inflections

The School for the Art & Science of Event Management is honoured to announce the appointment of Dr Claudelle von Eck as Patron of the School, effective 1 February 2026. Dr Von Eck is a respected and accomplished South African executive leader, governance specialist, and turnaround strategist with extensive experience at the highest levels of institutional leadership.

She is the former Chief Executive Officer of the Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa (IIA SA), where she led a national professional body dedicated to ethics, assurance, competence development, and professional standards. During her tenure, she also served as the executive event principal of the Institute’s flagship annual internal audit conference, a large-scale, high-profile professional gathering that underscored the strategic, reputational, and governance importance of professionally designed and managed events.

Until recently, Dr Von Eck served as a Non-Executive Director on the Eskom Board during a critical period of institutional recovery, contributing to the turnaround of one of South Africa’s most complex and strategically significant public entities. Her experience spans leadership under pressure, systems thinking, risk and change management, and ethical accountability in complex stakeholder environments.

As Patron of the School for the Art and Science of Event Management, Dr Von Eck brings a unique perspective that bridges leadership, governance, and lived experience as an event principal. Her patronage reinforces the School’s mission to professionalise event management as both an art and a science, grounded in competence, responsibility, and strategic value.
